Choosing the Right Registration Form

Please read the information below to help you decide which registration form to use. Once you’ve made your choice, select one of the buttons above.

 

Counselling and Mental Health Team

We provide free, confidential support to students in a safe and welcoming space. Our professionally trained Mental Health Practitioners and Counsellors offer three main services:

·               Counselling

·               Mental Health Support

·               Drop-in Sessions

These services are designed to help you manage your emotional and mental wellbeing. 


 

Drop-In Service

Our Counselling and Mental Health Team offers a drop-in service throughout the academic year, Monday to Friday. Each day, we provide up to four 20-minute appointments.

 

Telephone Appointments

All drop-in sessions are by telephone, so you can access support remotely.

Available times:

·               Monday: 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30

·               Tuesday: 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30

·               Wednesday: 11:30

·               Thursday: 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30

·               Friday: 12:00, 12:30

 

In-Person Appointments

Prefer to meet in person? Book one of the following slots and email CMHdropin@northampton.ac.uk to confirm you’d like to attend on campus.

Available times:

·               Tuesday: 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30

·               Thursday: 12:30

·               Friday: 12:00, 12:30

 

What to Expect

A drop-in session gives you the chance to talk with a member of our team if:

·               You’re experiencing emotional or mental health distress

·               You’re unsure whether Counselling or Mental Health support is right for you

We’ll listen, help you make sense of your situation, and discuss possible next steps.

Drop-in slots for the following week become available every Friday at the end of the day.

Mental Health Service

Our Mental Health Practitioners provide confidential support to students experiencing mental health difficulties.  They can: 

·               Assess how your mental health may affect your ability to learn.

·               Recommend adjustments to support your studies and progression.

·               Work with you to develop effective coping strategies.

 

Specialist Mental Health Mentoring

If you have a diagnosed mental health condition, you may be eligible for Specialist Mental Health Mentoring, funded through Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).

Counselling Service

Counselling offers you the opportunity to explore, understand, and discover ways to live more resourcefully with a greater sense of fulfilment.  It can help with: 

·               Addressing and resolving specific problems

·               Making decisions and coping with crises

·               Working through conflict

·               Improving relationships with others

 

Our Counsellors will listen and support you, helping you make sense of your situation and find your own answers.  If you need additional help, they can guide you to appropriate resources or agencies.
